Spring first pick from 500+ years old trees in Mengku region located 2000 meter above sea level. It's only 14 km from Bingdao, it's also the closest wild tea forest from Da Due Shan wild tea forest. The remote location well preserved from warfare and cultural revolution, the whole tea forest are well kept with pristine natural condition. Some say the quality is matching the bingdao Puerh. My opinion is it's great, but not quite as intense compared to bingdao lao zhai, more like a Dijie, but Dijie is slightly more floral.
Started off nice and strong, it can get very strong if steeped for long. Later steeps mellow out as the flavors unfold, floral aroma that lingers in the mouth, chicken broth, a savory energy slides down coating the throat with this nurturing sensation, satisfying!
Recommended water for this tea: very good quality filtered water, ie reverse osmosis filtered water. Spring water suppresses the fragrance quite a bit. Tap water is prohibited!
