Aged green tea infused in honey since 2014.
Honeyed tea has long been a remedy in Chao Zhou region as a semi medicinal nourishment, particularly consumed in Fall and Winter seasons as the weather is drier. It takes minimum of 3 years for the tea to fully absorb the moisture of the honey, it takes 5 years for them to fully mingled together, tea is in honey, honey is in tea. 10 years and more would be even better. Time is magical! Time is also an investment, we use top end teas and premium honey for guaranteed best results.
A green tea that does not taste like it at all. A green tea grown in Mei Zhou in GuangDong Province, the locals have a long history of storing aged teas for medicinal use. Stir fried to reduce moisture below 7%, then kept in clay jars with charcoals, sealed with lime and rice grass and husk for long term storage. The exterior of the leaves has turned powdery white. The taste is rich herbal medicine initially, it then become woody and transform into sweet mushroom as the liquid becomes lighter in color. Very long lasting tea! Extremely effective for colds. It worked like magic for myself and a friend with an over night recovery! That saved my life on the road in humid and hot condition in a densely populated country.
Best served in a big cup, 1 heaping teaspoon for 8 oz of water, or more to suit your own taste. Honeyed tea is not suitable for kungfu style, since the substance is already transferred to the honey.
Recommended water for all teas: very good quality filtered water, ie reverse osmosis filtered water. Spring water suppresses the fragrance quite a bit. Tap water is prohibited!
