Xiao Hong Ni is a finely textured Yixing red clay celebrated for its dense composition, delicate feel, and the striking vermillion-red hue it develops upon firing. Its high iron oxide content contributes to both its vibrant color and structural properties, while its pronounced crystallization ensures durability. However, this clay also undergoes a relatively significant firing shrinkage of about 20–28%, a factor that demands careful craftsmanship to preserve the teapot’s intended form and integrity.
