This clay was first mined during the end of Ming dynasty, became popular in Qing dynasty, but rarely found today, hence rare and highly sought after by Yixing collectors. The texture is silky with tiny grains of sands to the touch, nick named Shark Skin.
This clay has property of both purple clay and duan ni clay, is suitable for most teas from any category, green to black, light to dark.
