Huo Shan Huang Ya is produced in Huo Shan county in An Hui province. It has a long cultivation history dated back to Western Han dynasty, over 2000 years ago, it became a royal court tribute tea in Ming Dynasty over 500 years ago. Needless to say the quality and importance has been greatly praised.
This crop is a wild harvest in the mountain, crisp and bright, taste of the rain forest, super recharging with a peppermint tingling sensation, refreshing cup that wakes you up in the morning!
Yellow tea is similar to green tea with the extra step of Men Huang, a short oxidation step of a couple of hours, the purpose is to lessen the green grassy taste. Therefore yellow tea is easier on the stomach while maintaining the brightness of a green tea.
Use 3 g for a normal coffee mug size cup, off boil water approximately 209 F. Best result with Kungfu style brewing with either a teapot or gaiwan.
Recommended water for all teas: very good quality filtered water, ie reverse osmosis filtered water. Spring water suppresses the fragrance quite a bit. Tap water is prohibited!
