Welcome back to another year of the ceiling of all Long Jing green tea!
This particular batch is the wild picking in the mountain of the West Lake Shi Feng - Lion Peak area which is considered the best area producing the best quality Long Jing. These wild old trees were grown by the grand father of the producer during the Japanese invasion period in 1930s, as they hide in the mountain top from the Japanese army. Today the family travel an hour into the deep wild to harvest these historically unique crops in recent years, only they know where. Due to the high elevation, the young leaves are purple, it's a flavonoid that protects itself from getting sunburned by the ultraviolet light. Full body, round, smooth and buttery, mineral, deep, sweet all the way through, pure and energetic, lasting a good 7+ brews.
Wild tea trees are untempered by the human and without city pollution. The taste is pure, crisp and refreshing, unlike tea garden teas. The energy, Qi in Chinese term is very present and soothing.
We keep all of our green teas at a cool temperature to preserve the freshness for years.
Recommended water for tea: very good quality filtered water, ie reverse osmosis filtered water. Spring water suppresses the fragrance quite a bit. Tap water is prohibited!
