This teapot follows the Yi Li Zhu shape, a traditional design inspired by the form of a large, round bead. Its silhouette is smooth and symmetrical, evoking a sense of natural harmony and simplicity. The body is slightly wider at the base, giving it a stable yet elegant presence on the table. The teapot features miniature carvings of Chinese characters, specifically an excerpt from the classical poem Xiao Shi Tan Ji by Liu Zong Yuan, a renowned Tang Dynasty poet and writer. The poem describes the serene beauty of a small stone pond, capturing the tranquility of nature through vivid imagery.
Made with purple clay from the original mine. The carefully blended Yixing clay is well suited to Gongfu brewing.
