Lion peak is the best of West Lake region Long Jing, this batch is harvest from a plot of tea garden of 500 - 600 years old Qun Ti bushes right below the peak, date of picking was 04/12. This batch is hand fried by an 80+ years old brother of our open garden tea's owner. Both lots of tea garden are right next to each other, the sister's lot is right above the brother's.
This batch is floral, a characteristic is difficult to achieve. Floral long Jing requires lower temperature processing, the finished product is more difficult to stabilize and to store well compared to the chestnutty flavor Longjing. Old bush LJ is rich with depth, lasting well into after taste, the sensation is incredible! Lovely! Lovely!
True old bush lion peak long jing is famous for a good reason! If you think Long Jing should be grassy and water like, this is a must try tea in one's life time! It will change your perception.
500+ years old Long Jing Dragon Well green tea, dated back to Ming Dynasty! Imagine a man or woman back facing up to the sun, planting seedlings of tea tree one by one, maybe he's wearing a straw hat, or maybe he's wearing a palm leaf rain coat in the rain, pant sleeves rolled up, moving foot by foot on the Lion Peak mountain top. Today after two whole dynasties plus a republic period, and 75 years into the new reign, these trees are still living to show us what it has gone thru and witness, number of clouds past over them, number of rain drops landed on them, how many snow flakes touched them softly, 500+ years!!! What is it like to live through that amount of time, and still goes on. It makes my heart flutter just thinking of it, cheers, have a cup because we can! Let that essence of history soak up your taste buds and every cells in your body.
It's easy to find centuries years old even millenniums years old tea trees in Yunnan, but it's almost unheard of to find such old tea trees in green tea regions. I consider it a gift of the universe, and the universe led me to them! Thank you for all the delicious teas in my cup!
We keep all of our green teas at a cool temperature to preserve the freshness for years.
Recommended water for all teas: very good quality filtered water, ie reverse osmosis filtered water. Spring water suppresses the fragrance quite a bit. Tap water is prohibited!
