Agarwood from Nha Trang, Vietnam, a city in the mid-south of Vietnam. It's not only the major agarwood-producing area; agarwood from here is also the best quality in the world, along with that from Phuoc Son district. A tube of 50 small coils, which are shaped like auspicious clouds. Long lingering sweet aroma with a cooling sensation are the typical and desirable characteristics of agarwood from this region. Highly praised and extremely valuable!

Agarwood is effective as an antibacterial, for strengthening and clarifying meridians, eliminating coughing, enhancing organs and body energy, and relieving pain, among other health benefits. Regular use indoors can clear the air and calm the mind.

Agarwood, aloeswood, eaglewood, or gharuwood is a fragrant, dark, resinous wood used in incense, perfume, and small carvings. It is formed in the heartwood of aquilaria trees when they become infected with a type of mold (Phialophora parasitica). Prior to infection, the heartwood is odorless, relatively light, and pale-coloured; however, as the infection progresses, the tree produces a dark aromatic resin, called aloes or agar, in response to the attack, which results in a very dense, dark, resin-embedded heartwood. The resin-embedded wood is valued in East and South Asian cultures for its distinctive fragrance and is thus used for incense and perfumes. (From Wikipedia)

Incense has a very long history dating back to prehistoric times. Incense is burned to purify the air and eliminate bacteria, viruses, and odors. It is also an insect repellent, thus it is a disease preventative measure. Over the past few thousand years of practicing incense, the ingredients in incense have increased in variety, and the discovery and study of herbal effects upon the human body have deepened. Incenses now offer spiritual and mood enhancement formulas as well.
