Di Cao Qing Purple Clay refers to another type of Yixing Zisha clay. Literal translation: “bottom trough clear/clean”, meaning the bottom of the mine, clean single type of ores. It is a purple clay with greenish hue, a relatively fine texture and good permeability. Highly prized for making Yixing teapots because it enhances the flavor of brewed tea.
